I GET TO GO TO ALASKA!!!

Woohooo! The day has finally come! I am officially going to Alaska!!! I just recently signed up to go with the Aggie BSM on their spring break mission trip to Nome, Alaska, for the exciting finish of the famous Iditarod sled race! Wow - it doesn't get much more Alaskan than that! I am so pumped and I will definitely keep you all posted on the details as I know more. ALASKA, Here I come!!!

Saaaaadness...

Well, poo. It turns out I am not going to be able to spend my whole summer in Alaska after all... Spanish is horrible right now and I really think I might fail it. And in order to graduate this December, I have to pass this Spanish class and one more. I really don't want my graduation to hinge upon a class I am not too sure how well I am going to do in... so regardless of how I do this semester, I have decided that I need to take the final Spanish course this summer. If I suck this semester, I will be retaking this one over the summer as well. LAAAME.

- BUT -

I do have a cool job opportunity that appears to be opening up here in town, and if stuff works out with that and classes...
I might get to go to Alaska for a couple weeks at the end of the summer before school starts!! And if I do it then, I might get some other folks to come with me for a sweeet time up there!
So hopefully all that works out and I still get to go.
It is kind of disappointing that I won't be there all summer, especially with all the anticipation that has been building in my life for it, but Justin gave me some great wisdom saying that God doesn't want me to worship plans... even if they are good ones with good intentions.
"Plans are just plans." And these didn't work out. But that's OK. Hopefully I will make it to Alaska somehow. We shall see what doors open up...
SO
If you would be interested in going up there for about 2 weeks at the end of the summer, let me know. This could turn out to be more fun this way anyway...

Saweeetness!

What an encouraging day!

I emailed a TON of people today (contacts I had been given, people who had emailed me about Alaska, and every single Methodist church in the entire state, plus a few Baptist and Presbyterian ones). I have already gotten back about 10 responses, and everyone has sounded super excited to have me coming up there and I think I have about 10 or so ministry opportunities that I have been referred to now. AMAZING! Plus, I got to talk to Reese, my friend who spent last summer in the big AK, all about his experience there and cool stuff to see and do. I am so super stoked about my summer now! I have set the first week in February as my deadline for deciding what I'm gonna be doing up there. So soon. I am seriously so excited I can barely contain myself. This summer is gonna be straight up AWESOME!! Look back here soon for the update on where I'm gonna be and what's going down for the summer. I may be asking for YOUR HELP with some stuff too! See ya.
ALASKA, here I come!!
